Albert Camus Quotes About Love, Life, Absurdism, The Stranger, Coffee, Death, Truth, Freedom & Philosophy! Albert Camus was a well-known French-Algerian journalist, dramatist, novelist, and philosophical writer who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his work in philosophy. Camus was born on November 7, 1913, in the French Algerian town of Mondavi.
Camus initially joined the Communist Party and later the Algerian People’s Party while still in college. Camus joined the French Resistance during World War II and helped liberate Paris from the Nazis. While serving in the military, he met Jean-Paul Sartre. When the United States dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima in 1945, he was one of few Allied reporters to speak out against the act. Sartre later split with him because he was an outspoken opponent of communist ideology.
Despite being a prolific author, Camus is still recognized as a logician, even though he had no advanced training or knowledge in the field. Albert Camus’ writings made significant contributions to a spectrum of ethical philosophy issues, from political turmoil to suicide and the death sentence.
Despite his denials, he is often referred to be an existentialist writer. Camus gained worldwide acclaim and popularity through his books and philosophical articles early in his career. The writings presented and expanded the twin philosophical concepts of the Absurd and the Idea of Revolt to the world. Albert Camus became renowned as a philosopher because of this thought, and anytime these ideas are spoken, people automatically think of Camus. Sadly, he passed away on January 4, 1960, in Burgundy, France.
