In high school, Ayn Rand was an active Kerensky Revolution supporter. However, she disapproves of the 1917 Bolshevik uprising. Rand’s family fled to Crimea to escape the disturbances and finished high school there. Rand enrolled at the State Institute for Cinema Arts in 1924, where she learned screenwriting.

The first screenplay Ayn Rand sold to Universal Pictures was Red Pawn in 1932, after a long and arduous journey in Hollywood. We the Living, Rand’s first book, was finished in 1934, but no publisher would take it until 1936. As early as 1935, Ayn Rand started working on her best-known book; The Fountainhead. 12 publishers first rejected the work before being accepted by the Bobbs-Merrill Company. Rand debuted the notion of a “perfect man” in this work. It became a best-seller once it was published in 1943.

Her time was spent teaching and writing journals on Objectivism, which she called the philosophy of earthly existence after the publication of Atlas Shrugged. It would take six volumes to cover all she wrote on Objectivist philosophy and its application to culture. In her New York apartment, Rand died on March 6, 1982, and left a philosophical legacy that continues to inspire people today. the novels of Ayn Rand have never been out of print.
