John Wooden was an American basketball coach as well as One of the best basketball coaches of all time. On October 14, 1910, in Hall, Indiana, a boy named John Robert Wooden was born. The Franklin Wonder Five, a great Indiana high school basketball team that dominated the sport from 1919 to 1922, was Wooden’s inspiration as a youngster.
In 1927, he won the state championship with his high school squad, An All-State pick three times in his career. While at Indiana State, he took his team to the Indiana State title and was chosen team captain. Wooden eventually acquired a degree in English and opted to get married and settle down as an English teacher while coaching the high school’s sports teams.
When UCLA hired him in 1948, he became the team’s basketball coach. Wooden accepted the role even though it wasn’t much sought for due to the absence of adequate amenities on the squad. Every player was disciplined and brought to their peak by him. His method was a big reason the UCLA basketball team won 10 NCAA titles throughout 12 seasons.
Wooden continued to be an inspirational figure for his players and anybody who could connect with his character’s genuineness. He was dead on June 4, 2010. Instead of concentrating on discovering winning techniques, he constantly worked to better himself and his character.
